About the Shop

The WeSewRetro shop sells:

- original vintage sewing patterns from the 1920s, 1930s, 1940s, 1950s, 1960s, 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s.

- vintage reproduction sewing patterns (for example, original vintage designs that were rereleased by McCalls, Butterick, Vogue or Simplicity)

- contemporary and retro sewing patterns from independent designers (the 'little guy') in both traditional paper and PDF formats

Vintage patterns will have a description of their condition (which obviously varies with age) but they will always, always, always be complete unless very clearly marked and heavily discounted. All the vintage patterns are carefully checked before being put on sale.

    Shipping

We ship worldwide via USPS (United States Postal Service). Tracking is included as standard where possible.

Shipping charges are based on weight and distance so the easiest way to estimate shipping is to put items in your cart and use the shipping estimator at the bottom of the cart page. As a general rule, genuine vintage patterns are fairly light, modern vintage reproductions are often about double the weight (because they contain many more sizes), and some of the patterns we carry from independent designers are large format when again increases the weight.

If you want to order a book and live within the United States, I can ship your order via slower but much cheaper Media Mail so long as there are only books in the order. If this is possible, I'll refund the difference between what you were charged for shipping and what it cost. Don't hesitate to get in touch with questions.

      Taxes

WeSewRetro is based in lovely Louisville, Kentucky. Customers within Kentucky will be charged 6% sales tax at checkout.

Customers outside the US should be aware that many countries assess duties and taxes on items you buy from another country once the package reaches a certain value. The amount you can spend before being taxed is different for each country. If you are uncertain of the amount that you might be charged by your government for importing goods, please check your local postal service's website before placing your order because your local postal service will hold you responsible for your own country's customs and import fees.
